Usually called something like "paste with formatting". Libreoffice has a "paste special" submenu in Edit. This typically works in all applications if the text area supports formatting. ctrl+v to paste the text. ctrl+shift+v to paste the copied text and all additional formatting. I'm not sure if this is dependent on the DE or if it's tied into some sort of X clipboard feature. YMMV Also works in windows and mac. Not sure who came up with that particular feature. -Ben
