Hmm, this is interesting, it's never happened to me before. If you find
out what went wrong I'd love to hear about it, just in case. :)

Here's a snippet from my /etc/smb.conf:

[cdrom]
comment = CD-ROM Drive
path = /mnt/cdrom
writeable = no 

... which in turn is mounted as the following in /etc/fstab:

/dev/cdrom   /mnt/cdrom   iso9660   noauto,ro,user,unhide   0 0

I've got this working for some ISO images I have on-disk being automounted
by the automount daemon from the package autofs-3.1.4-4.
