try ifup eth0 and see if the ethernet card is up.
but most likely hindi siya naka up or installed ang driver.
visit (http://www.scyld.com/network) (-- site given to me by lemuel) and check
for the updated drivers for network card. parang may nakita ako last time on 3c509
