the thing from linux99 is version 8.0.5. it is certified for redhat 5.2
(glibc2.0).
you need to patch it to get it working with glibc2.1, otherwise you'll get
segfaults whenever you try to run ANYTHING. there are ample documents on
the net, no need to repeat them here.
OR: get 8.1.6 (oracle8i).. i got a copy at greenhills (RGB, on the 3rd
floor) although you can also download it. 8i for linux functions fine on
6.0/6.1/6.2 but NOT 7.0 (well, redhat 7.0 is for people who want to
bleed..)
