hello edwin,
i think you have three questions here.
1. hotmail problem
try to isolate the problem one by one. first try to surf hotmail
without using your proxy and if doesnt work then you have an idea where the problem
is. second, use your proxy and the rest you know what to do.
2. cant access your local web site
most probably here your domain is not registered or your domain is
using a private ip address. this will cause you a problem once your ppp daemon
replace your resolv.conf original settings to your isp dns ip address upon
connection which cannot resolve your domain which causes your browser cannot access
it.
3.setting up transparent proxy.
setting up transparent proxy is easy. please read the FAQ of squid
about transparent proxy.
