I've been playing with my friend's Plustek 900/9000 scanner. It has no power anything, no brand on the case, and according to him costs 2500. Less now I guess. I think it's a very common low-end scanner. Anyway it works famously with Linux using the Plustek drivers, SANE 1.03 and xsane 0.65. I haven't gotten the GIMP plugin working yet and I had to some some Makefile-hacking (apparently my bleeding-edge Helix GNOME broke some of the gui's) but xsane works, I can scan nicely (slowly..) it eats up ALL the cpu though (800mhz p3). I believe if I enable EPP on the parallel port things will be better.. http://www.mostang.com/sane/ http://home.t-online.de/home/g-jaeger/plustek.html -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> POTS Phone: +63 (2) 937-2293 Mosaic Communications, Inc.
