Thank you very much for that link, now I understand. Whoever logs in the
machine first gets ownership of the devs' as defined in
/etc/security/console.perms. I now set the perms of /dev/audio* ,dsp*,
mixer*, sequencer, and cdrom in /etc/security/console.perms to 666 (hoa!!
security nightmare!!) maybe I'll change this to 660. And I set them to
revert to root.audio and root.cdrom when all users log out.
