well, they have mari kaimo on their board. but no, i guess it's all just
blowing smoke. i mean, *ANY* one who wanted to push linux in this country
would *AT LEAST* siguro subscribe to PLUG ano? and (to quote that writer i
love to hate, eric raymond, he-who-blows-his-own-horn-hardest), one can't
really declare one's expertise in the hacker tribe, it's given by one's
peers. i don't see bluepoint asking around before making fantastic claims.
you should see their "projects" page. scroll down to the bottom, it'll
make you laugh. i mean, the way they claim to be "working on analyzing
radio telescope data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week" makes them seem like
real scientists. but if you go to the SETI rankings, you'll see that my
colleague Paul Pongco at mozcom is at #3 in the Philippines, just by
parking seti clients on idle machines. and any windoze luser with half a
brain can install seti on his win9x box and "do hard science."
:)
