Here's something for all you Linux detectives.

When I shutdown my system (Red Hat 6.2), I usually just issue the halt command
and get prompted for a password (when I'm not root). A few days ago, I got this
strange message:

   userhelper setuid must be root

Duh!!! OK, userhelper is a frontend for PAM, but what do I do know? I don't
want to open a root shell every time I shutdown.

Of course, it may be better that only root can shutdown the system, but it's
wierd when it changes all by itself. I didn't make any changes to pam or
userhelper or anything else that might lead to this. Anyone have any idea what
may have caused this?

God bless!
