I held a BYOPC installfest a few years ago. Migz will remember that one.
Only one person showed up with his PC and we ended up with just a few
short talks about Linux and demonstrations of what Linux could do. What
made it interesting was that we had a big bunch of people interested in
what Linux can do packed in one place where they could try it out.
I felt crazy doing it at the time, but I think that it would have been
much better if (a) it was planned and prepared for longer, (b) it involved
more people preparing for the event, (c) special topics were to be
discussed -before- the actual installfest, (d) preparation in advance and
(e) preparation in advance.
I cannot under-emphasize how important it will be to prepare for the event
in advance.
And yes, I want to host another Installfest in Manila too. :)
