it's very great. especially when you couple it with inetd and xdm (or
kdm).

i really prefer when running it from inetd (or xinetd). 

as for speed, it's pretty good having a 640x480 8bit desktop over a dialup
line. best of all, the vnc client is very small and available on major
OS'es. So at home, I could access one of my desktops, some of our and our
client's servers.
