Hello, -> an intermediate Linux user but a non-kernel hacker.
I compiled kernel-2.4.12 and compilation finished without error. Added new kernel to lilo.conf. Ran lilo with no error messages. Rebooted into new kernel. Right after the BIOS screen, I get a line at the bottom of screen that states "Loading vmlinuz...." which is normal. The problem is: A fraction of a second into the "Loading vmlinuz...." stage, computer just reboots. I wonder why? What are the avenues I should take to figure out what's causing the problem? Any tips or nudge in the right direction would be appreciated. Thank you all. ltiu _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
