Here in the states, the books are usually cheaper at bookstore chains than
through O'Reilly with the discount, since the chains tend to discount
them even better.  You might check the prices on amazon.com,
bn.com (which is always 20% off O'Reilly products), or some large
bookstores in the metro area.

Your web site should be enough proof; they just want to know that you're
not a person trying to get free stuff, but they understand the inherent
openness of LUGs.
