For which reason I believe nessus is a much powerful tool. Well, aside
from the fact that nessus also uses nmap to do the portscanning. Nessus
has a library of tools called plugins that are continuously updated. This
allows the tester to know if the system has any vulnerabilities based on
the existing known exploits. :)
But no, I wasn't discounting the importance of nmap, or any other decent
portscanner. I just wanted to point out that for what it's able to do,
nessus is well worth whatever "configuring" you have to do.
