There was a thread on the wine-developer's list and several negative comments about lindows. Unlike Codeweavers and Corel, who actively backported source code from their own trees back to wine, no one ever heard a whisper of support from lindows. Transgaming has a different business model and yet have been very open about their licensing. Basically, they plan to port back code once they feel they have recouped their investment or specifically, reached about 1 million USD a year.
On the other hand, this is a very good example of the GPL in action, or inaction. Lindows is a prime example that the GPL does not jeopardize proprietary code., even if that that code is based on open source lecenses. -- Juan Paolo Carballo _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
