Hi Orly,

I too got lots of spam not to mention attached virus. Initially, I had
setup header-check under postfix but that's limited to what I've previously
received. So, I found and added another set of script which I found. Its
called spamassassin. It uses perl and filters out mail based on the points
or hits reached. eg. the mail has 1 line of all capital letters, it gets 2
points. And you can set how many hits/points a msg gets before its marked
as a spam. It can also be linked to Vipul's razor database of known spams,
where one can also contribute to the database.

Check out http://www.spamassassin.org

One can set it as sitewide or personal, and supposedly, users can have the
option to whitelist certain addresseses if they think the mail they received
is not spam. the latter I have yet to try out.

Initially, I installed it to see the results and it will mark the mails as
SPAM in the subject line. After a while, I just set procmail to send those
marked as spam to /dev/null.

Can you send me your script as well? I would still be interested in your
script and add it to the level of filters.

God bless.

William
