Hello,

Inputs on this one is appreciated.

Existing Setup:

File Server - W2K Server using Active Directory
Print Server - W2K Professional
Desktops - Windows 98

Final Setup:
File Server- W2K Server using Active Directory
Print Server - W2K Professional
Desktops - RedHat 7.3

Desktop Hardware: Pentium Celeron, 64 MB DRAM, 4 GB hard disk, S3 Trio 3D
2X video Adapter.

Issues to be resolved:

1. Replacement for MS Office 2000, that would be able to read and modify
existing Word, Excel and PowerPoint
files. What Office suite is recommended ?
2. Replacement for MS Visio 2000. Is there an equivalent on Linux ?
3. Need to connect to File Server, hopefully via GUI interface much like
"Network Neighborhood". I tried Samba before,
but that was on an old NT based network. Can Samba connect to W2K servers ?
Does it have the GUI utility for the end users ?
4. Need to be able to use Print Server.

Has anyone done this before ? If so, what were the problems encountered ?

Thanks,
