Pretty certain. Interbase, back in the early 90s was actually marketed as an embedded database (because that was where the hype was at that time). (any suggestions?) Unlike Polyhedra though, Interbase/Firebird is by no means an in-memory RDMS. If you're looking for other free alternatives, check out Gadfly and Equi4's Metakit. Wrt to free Firebird ODBC drivers, check out the sourceforge.firebird-odbc-devel newsgroup at news.atkin.com (and tell me what you learn :-). Free JDBC support is there in the form of Interclient.
