I just got a weird minor irritation recently concerning the VFAT filesystem I have mounted in my system. Here's the short summary of it:
% ls -l drwxr--r-- 23 root root 8192 1970-01-01 08:00 windows 1) manipulating the permissions does not work (either using setfacl or chmod) 2) touching the timestamps work... until the next mount, wherein it's rest back to the start of the epoch. 3) no immutable flags have been set; the directory where the VFAT filesystem mounted on is on XFS. util-linux version: 2.11y (Debian Sid) What could have possibly happened (or what I've unwittingly done -- aside from using Debian Unstable :-) for this to happen? -- Paolo Alexis Falcone [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
