1st of all check your kernel if you have already loaded the modules or you may take a look on /etc/modules.conf

2nd recompile your kernel goto /usr/src/linux then make menuconfig goto networking device then look for point to point protocol

Subject: [plug] enabling ppp compression

Dear fellow plug members,

I have research google about enabling ppp compression...
so far STAC and MPPC are the one mostly mentioned..

i think STAC is software compression... which means i can do it without
purchasing any additional hardware..

but i can't find any manual or howtos on them...
will enabling ppp compression increase efficiency of the connection?

Thank you in advance.
