Ack. You're absolutely right, Doc Mana, that -WAS- awful. So being the
inexperienced programmer that I am, I will rewrite the whole thing at
first sight of bug:
Let x be my lifetime in years, and n be the number of years of
Michael's database development experience.
"That's more than half my lifetime" can be rewritten as
n > x / 2
We assert by virtue of my birth certificate and the date today that
x = 21
and therefore
n > 10
where the division made was integer division. This inequality is
true since we can rewrite Michael's claim of having "15+ years" of
experience as
n >= 15
and any n will clearly be greater than half my lifetime, since at
n's minimum,
15 > 10
is true, and any n greater than the minimum will continue to be
greater than 10.
