Three hours about dselect? I do Debian installs this way:

1. Install the base system
2. Update my /etc/apt/sources.list
3. apt-get dist-upgrade, if I want
4. apt-get install aptitude
5. aptitude

dselect is bloody. Practically all the Debian users I know skip it and
use either apt-get or a nice front-end like aptitude instead. I
suspect that the best approach is really to say that dselect is not
essential and that newbies can skip it if they want...
