kernel compile update: just for the sake of the archives... It seems that the relatively older kernels (2.4.20) wouldn't be built right with the gcc-3.3 compiler. I don't know what's wrong with the compiler or the source, but when I tried compiling the same kernel source using the gcc-2.95 compiler it built right.
I am willing to investigate though, but that should come around during
the sem break. It's something really bugging me, because from what I've
heard, the newer compilers created more "optimized" code compared to the
older compilers. I might be wrong here, but I am willing to check it
out.
