from my experience, linmodems although they have sometimes working drivers, may cause instability on your system (well, i used the kludged sm56 drivers from www.sm56.tk). i get random kernel panics and segfaults and the likes. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't try checking http://linmodems.org . they have an archive of discussions of different winmodems there. try lurking through it. the site also contains a lot of resources on these types of 'modems' -allan espinosa _______________________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
