hi all,

if a file has been rotated:

e.g., i'm sitting on a file waiting for it to change and the file
          gets rotated,

               either by logrotate,
or by someone deleting or moving the file

[directory entry gets removed, but file is
not *really* physically removed yet since
i still hold a descriptor on it]

and then creating a file with the same name,

is it guaranteed that the inode of the new file won't be the same
as the inode of the file that i'm still holding a descriptor on?
i know i could read the source for tail :). and if no one answers,
that's exactly what i'll do :).

thanks for any pointers.
