But regardless if it can run DirectX or not, Win4Lin or any simulator or emulator for the matter is not for serious gamers, is it. :) I've been doing a lot of C# and .NET in the past year or so.. and you really don't need VS.NET to write .NET-hosted apps -- unless of course you're already accustomed to the VS environment. The C# and VB.NET compilers are already included in the MS .NET package, which is freely available for download. You may use SharpDevelop (http://www.icsharpcode.net/), an open source IDE for C# and VB.NET. You can even use Eclipse with the C# plugin. For ASP.NET development, there's the community supported Web Matrix from ASP.NET. > still much more expensive though (approaching $300, i think). but > VMware is also much more capable. i've tried out the demo versions > and as long as you've got a fast computer and lots of RAM, it's definitely > a great product (run several FreeBSD sessions, several Linux sessions, > and several WinXP sessions all at the same time on your 2GB RAM > 3.8Mhz box :). That's cool. But that's an overkill for a lowly developer like me. I'm happy just being able to use MS Money, Word, and Palm SyncManager/CDK. Thanks for the info, and stay cool. jeff -- -- Jeff Gutierrez (jeff at gutierrez dot ph) Pinoy ako! May reklamo?
