hi all,

i posted this last year at ph-linux-newbie. please allow me to re-post it
here.

need advice on this setup.

all win98 clients do print and access files on a samba
server *samba-A*. Ive added win98 users to this box
using "useradd ..." and "smbpasswd -a <username>" all
the win98 client usernames. and all works well.

but then, ive added another linux box and this time i
need to share the windows parition that is mounted on
it. i named it as *samba-B*.

this time (for learning sake) i want to know how will
samba-B authenticate samba users that connects to it
using samba-A's authentication?

one way i know would be possible (but havent
implement) is to do PDC-BDC setup, but i need to know
if there is another way. because samba-A is not and i
dont want it to be a PDC.

im not ready for ldap or nss yet.
and i dont want to repeat: to input the
win98 client's username on samba-B, of course.
