mplayer seems to have some patent and license issues, since it's not included in the main debian archive... there are some prepackaged binaries, however, at marillat.free.fr ;) Don't get me wrogn, though, just 'coz I'm a debian dude; I got mplayer srcs yesterday, and have been playing with it for a good damn while... I do use xine (totem from gnome2.4 actually) when I want to do some kewl stuph, like streaming clips on several idiot boxes, hehe... Well, that's my two bytes worth.
