actually ever since devchannel.org came out with two articles on building web services using Apache Axis (see www.devchannel.org), i've been toying with the idea of doing something similar about building web services using gSOAP, an opensource C/C++ web services toolkit. i mean, MS has VC++.NET right? so there should at least be some exposure for an open source alternative in gSOAP.... also, the gSOAP documentation is pretty thorough, but so is the documentation for Axis, and still there was room for Axis articles in devchannel; so again i figure maybe something similar could be done for gSOAP...
