hmmmmmm, the core mail servers then were using Digital Tru64. the main reason we moved to linux was because our users did not wish to let go of pine. they loved it so much they didnt even consider lotus notes, which we were demo'ing for them. and since Tru64 and the hardware it was running on was not able to support the number of users we had then, linux got the job.


the proposals and budget were all ready then. we were on our way to domino-land, but it was the users who made the decision for us. turned out nicely, as we were able to focus most of our resources on better hardware.
