Good day everyone,

I'm using RH 9.0 updated with the current errata releases via the RHN.
I've recently built an old kernel (2.4.22) patched with the Con Kolivas
Patchset 2 (for the same kernel version), and everytime I boot kudzu
segfaults on me. I've tried recompiling the kernel, and adding all the
modules that the desknote will need (took quite a lot of time on this
Desknote A530+ with just a 600Mhz transmeta processor).

I noticed this happening ever since I built in the SiS framebuffer
support into the kernel, but I really doubt that it could be the reason
for kudzu to crash during startup. What bothers me, is that kudzu does
not crash at all when using a 2.4.20 kernel (from kernel.org patched
with the Con Kolivas patchset 7 for the same kernel version, and the RH
packaged kernel).

Has anybody experienced anything similar? Could it be kernel binary
incompatibility (I built the 2.4.22-ck2 kernel using a 3.2 compiler)
with kudzu?

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Have a nice day! :)

TIA
