I've already deployed some tinc-based vpns on hosts that have static IPs, though I'm already inclined to re-explore it for dynamic hosts (I checked the Google cache of their mailing list regarding this topic some time ago at the office). Would I run it on its default mode (router) on my machine with dynamic IP's? I'm thinking it has to run on switch mode, as I still have to contend with the dynamic IP issue, as well as going through two more hops before getting to a public IP[1], although the only draw-back would be more ARP requests.
[1] This is PLDT's configuration for their MyDSL package, which allocates private IP's via a DHCP server built in to their ADSL routers (which still do have private IP's). How I really wish I could just use at least one of the public IP's I have, if it only were really possible :-) -- Paolo Alexis Falcone [EMAIL PROTECTED]
