Where? When? March 31, 1994 was Holy Thursday. This was the day that I came back to Manila from Cebu. The only thing that I brought back with me from San Carlos was the printed list of host names and IP numbers of the "interesting" sites on the Net, since ph.net did not have any name servers installed yet. Moreover, the only link from ph.net to the world was the USC link, and root account (or guest account) was not passworded. I took advantage, and spent Good Friday downloading much of SLS Linux (or was it Slackware Linux?), from the Net to USC, and from USC to Ateneo. What an unholy way to spend Good Friday, but what a good Griday it was for me!
