Usually installing Linux with unknown hardware
like new Raid controllers that are not native to boxed distribution is to boot
the Installer CD to expert mode on which it will ask you to load the driver of
the hardware you want to add or install. If you’re having problems with
the “disk” or “media not found” then that’s the
time you have to use the raid controller firmware first to initiate the disks
for use. --ran -----Original Message----- We have a problem installing "Dell Deployment CD
for Linux and Oracle" in Power Dell 2600. It can not detect the server
raid controller(PERC 4DI). Actually, we have already downloaded the mentioned
raid controller. But we have no option to load the "PERC 4DI" in the
said deployment CD. Normally, when we are installing using standard red hat
server installation we only used "linux dd" to load disk controller
driver. But using deployment CD, how are we going to load "PERC 4DI"
driver. Thanks. |
