Update your ifplug, and possibly your dhcp-client ;-) In my case, I recently tried doing ifup eth0 under linux-2.6.6, and it spewed up the same stderr. Doing the above fixed it nicely (apt-get install ifupdown dhcp-client from ppp0 ;-) HTH, Zakame -- |*-------------ZAK B.
