If Postfix can authenticate via PAM, then I suggest you read up on setting up Samba 3 winbindd and pam_winbind. I'd say that would be the ideal solution, and currently that's what I have set up in our office to authenticate AD users to our Subversion version control repositories.
Winbind allows you to authenticate against a NT domain (either older NT domains or Win2K/Win2k3 AD).
