Sorry, the proper acronym is DCOP, not KCOP.

for their exciting possibilities... COM is about exactly
being able to do this sort of thing.  In fact it is obvious
that COM was the inspiration for KCOP (and Bonobo as well).

Perhaps KCOP/Bonobo have had the benefit of hindsight and are
cooler...?  Otoh, Mono is yet another alternative...
