True. M$ can't afford to spend $$$, but others (read: SCO and friends) are willing to. So M$ doesn't even need to spend just to bury Linux. McBride has a shovel. Zealots (and bigots, naturally) have their uses, and they make exceptionally good frontliners (remember WWII and those kamikazes ;) Remember: the wise man likes to show off his wisdom, the brave does not shirk from tests of courage; the stupid man has no fear for death. It's up to you guys who's the zealot on that one :D > All applause goes to the people hacking on Linux and the rest > of open source for their myriad glorious technical achievements, > but those /promoting/ it have a LOT to learn. The situation as it is nowadays is that M$ is a threat, not the other way around. And its gettin' worse day by day as we're gettin' close to a better Windows and a fatter Linux. Makes me wonder: what if the Hurd became the kernel of choice? Would have it followed the same path Linux is taking now? Would rms be the poster boy for open source? Stay tuned... Games included. I personally think games are _the_ last frontier, not office apps, groupware or any productivity solution. GAMES are the PRODUCTIVITY APPS! We just don't get to think of it as much as we would now, but taking a look into history, we can all see why this is so: Unix, in all its glory, was meant for games ;D Feel free to correct me on this one... > I root for Linux but use Windows.
