anybody here have experienced this problem wherein you can't switch user or login any of the user accounts except as root?
$ su - user1 could not open session
i've googled the web for a fix and came up with a remedy by editing /etc/pam.d/su and replacing the "required" entries into "optional". this time the error flags as:
$ su - user1 id: cannot find name for user ID 123 [i have no [EMAIL PROTECTED] user1]$ _
i did an strace and checked the entries and persmissions on the passwd file and there's nothing wrong on it.
any more ideas aside from reinstallation? =)
