Normally I would recommend updating the kernel ... but this is RHEL AS
3.0 and the support the RedHat folks give costs a lot of money that I
won't recommend nuking it just for the trivial stuff of sound cards or
other hardware support - for that it's just easier and cheaper to
replace the non-RHEL certified hardware with certified ones. That
being said, if you want to upgrade - you can download the more recent
kernel 2.6 versions from Fedora or kernel.org _BUT_ you'd need to
update your userland tools as well as the initialization scripts to
accomodate the changes from 2.4 to 2.6.
