I mentioned this last PLUG GA in PhilOSC. I personally know the congresswoman from a district in Pampanga. She was initially interested in carrying this torch all the way to congress. Yun nga lang, we need to educate her on Free Software and it's merits - essentially the issues involved. One suggestion - getting this open letter to the OP is one thing, getting it read by the actual powers that be is another. But if we can craft this open letter into an actual privileged speech, that would definitely get noticed, especially now in the era of belt-tightening. So if there are enough people willing to form a working group regarding this, let's do it!
