The onboard gigabit NIC is 3Com Corporation 3c940 10/100/1000Base-T [Marvell] , the driver used is the sk98lin module from the 2.6.8 kernel, I don't think its a bad physical connection because i'm using the same cable when I tested the 3c905 NIC and ifconfig shows no errors. I also tested using iperf with the other machine here with gigabit NIC and i'm getting this results: [816] 0.0-10.0 sec 631 MBytes 529 Mbits/sec [804] 0.0-10.0 sec 641 MBytes 538 Mbits/sec [812] 0.0-10.0 sec 642 MBytes 539 Mbits/sec but actual network transfers are really slow, what else should I check, sayang naman yun kung di magagamit yun gigabit Thanks. -- Carlo Roy V.
