/I normally use netconfig to change IP our my Linux box. But when I check it with ifconfig after clicking OK I still have the old IP address. What I do is to restart the box before I get to see the new IP applied. How do I change the IP address without re-starting the computer. Btw I use Red Hat. Thanks for your help. / you can also try this command: (as root) --- ]# ifdown ethX && ifup ethX -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
