There are lots of software not meant for production but other people
have found ways of making them work and perform well. I do think that
statement from the red hat website is just a disclaimer that fedora
wasn't meant to be a miracle that would work instantly out of the box.
This is also true for any Linux distro.

I wouldn't recommend Mandrake as a server either. I find that it lacks
some development tools, and some networking tools proved unstable. Its
really nifty for a desktop though. You don't need the fanciness, only
a bare web server that you can administer remotely.

Consider also compatibility. What other software do you need
installed? FTP and SSH, other web servers, mail servers, database
servers, etc?

Consider also your hardware setup.

RH, FC, WBEL, etc., and even FreeBSD. All these are out there and
already being used. Work with what you have and configure it well.
