hindi ba ganun talaga kapag nagcompile with linking to libraries?
kailangan pa rin iyong -L switch.

it has been my practice kasi to do that. kahit nasa ld.so.conf na mga
directories. i use fortran and it uses gcc to compile, so walang
gaanong difference.
