Anyone interested in creating a local Ubuntu LoCo Team? There seems to
be big interest on Ubuntu locally if we take notice of the shipment
problems PLUG people have encountered. An officially recognized LoCo
team can help out with these problems. Canonical and the Ubuntu
community are encouraging the creation of LoCo teams for a lot of
reasons - advocacy, localization (Rosetta has a Tagalog project that
no one has started yet) and other stuff that can spread Ubuntu locally
- they can even host the LoCo Wiki, mailing list and domain name
(without charge). The whole thing is actually in their wiki page:

http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/LoCoTeams

Will a LoCo PhilippineTeam conflict with PLUG? I don't think so. It
can actually enhance PLUG as it is today. A local,
Canonical/Ubuntu-recognized LoCo Team can make a difference with
regards to advocacy and public acceptance. Therefore, everybody wins.

This is quite interesting. If we can get enough people to join the
LoCo team, that would be great. Of course, full-time Ubuntu users are
preferred as start-up team, but everyone is welcome to join!
