Hi, I would suggest that you perform a "sudo apt-get update" and a "sudo apt-get upgrade". This should resolve many issues regarding outdated packages. As for the segmentation fault, I'd like to try this out sometime so that I could maybe hack at gnucash -- since I use this myself too, but on Mandrake on my Desknote.
