The rfkill looks like the guilty party. Is there a switch on the outside?

Funny. I've never seen that switch before. Yes, there is one, and somehow
it got turned off. However, while that did make it possible to change the
wireless condition from Off to On, all the radios listed are still out of
range. Sigh.
This might be a good time to try a reboot.

Reboot solves the problem. I am able to see a couple of WiFi transceivers, one of which is this hotel. Since I'm hard wired, I'll stick with that for tonight. Tomorrow I probably won't have old-school Ethernet anymore, so knowing what to do to get WiFi working again is good.

Three nights ago I had the same problem and  a reboot fixed it to where I could see the hotel WiFi. I must have turned off the switch after that. One odd thing three nights ago is that after turning on the power, but before it booted, I got an error message:

------------------------------------------------------------
The system is running in low-graphics mode. Your screen, graphics card and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself
------------------------------------------------------------

Clicked OK.

------------------------------------------------------------
What would you like to do?

(.) Try running with default graphical mode
( ) Reconfigure graphics
( ) Troubleshoot the error
( ) Exit to console login
------------------------------------------------------------

I chose to run with default.

While the OS booted and I could do everything else I tried, I had the out of range error. Rebooting solved that problem.

However, I have gotten another message:

------------------------------------------------------------
System program problem detected.

Do you want to report the problem now?

[Cancel]    [Report Problem]
------------------------------------------------------------

I've tried that both ways. If the report goes somewhere, I never know. Now I just cancel.

A simple restart wasn't enough this afternoon. I had to do a power down/up. So while it's working, I know something isn't right, and will have to pursue that when we get home.

Thanks for all the troubleshooting help.
