Note the version, you downloaded JDK 11. So no, it won't work. Go back to the downloads page and scroll down. They offer the same set of downloads with a different version. I don't see a reason why you would need anything other than JDK version 8 or openjdk.
The slackbuild script wants jdk-8u66-linux-x64.tar.gz. I finally found it by searching on the Oracle site. It took me to a page that has that file. I accepted the license, clicked on that file, but then it took me to a page where I have to sign in to my Oracle account. Sigh.
In the morning I'll try copying the slackbuild and the jdk from my desktop machine and try again. If that doesn't work, there's always the clinic a week from Sunday.
