I've 20-30 flash drives dedicated t specific projects. Attempts to attach paper tags with useful information was futile. I'm thinking of using colored gummed labels [to sort by capacity] and write an sequential index number on it.
I'll have a file associating index number to content description. Any suggestions?
I use masking (or the blue painter's) tape to mark small items such as flash drives, equipment power plugs, and ethernet cables (now I use tags for the last one). Easy to remove and replace and a very fine pointed Sharpie makes the writing clear and readable.
